Thanks to both of you for trying to help. I thought I did what you guys said
to do, but I must be doing something wrong.

Steve... Are you implying that I need to do this on two machines, and that
it can't be done on one? I have two machines that are networked, so if that
is the case I have no problem, there.

Phil... Regarding the the drivers. I run Windows98. Should I be using
"MyODBC 2.50.24 for Windows95 (full setup)", and then replace the ".dll"
with 2.50.25?

Right at the moment, I have 2.50.24 installed in both System and User DSN. I
have the other driver available, if I should replace it.

Regardless, this is where I run into trouble. I am assuming something should
be in "File DSN". When I try to install "MySQL" into this area I am asled
for the name of the data sourse. I am lost here. Any suggestions.

Details: My machine is named Localhost, and I have a permanent DSL
connection to the internet, with a constant IP address. When I try to link
Access to my MYSQL database, called Comptronics, I am lost as to what goes
into which fields.

Hope you can straighten me out.

Doug

First off what you are trying works beautifully, eventually.

Step1:
Get the mysql odbc drievrs from www.mysql.com

Step 2:
Install said drivers.

Step3:
Create the DSN

Step4
Connect Access to mysql.

From there all you need to do is install MyODBC on the machine that
Access97 is on, setup the proper datasource in the controlpannel
and then link it via ODBC
