Sorry, I should have been more clear :o)

I am attempting to write a program  in C. However, when I use VS6 or GCC I
get a series of error
because of problems in mysql.h. So, what I am looking for is the last stable
release assuming these errors due not exist.

I used the following cmdline for compiling.(Out of MySQL, by New Riders).

gcc -Ic:\mysql\include\ client.c
