Subject:mysqlclient.lib - Borland C++

I want to access from a PC-Windows to my mySql server installed on a unix
computer with the C API but I can't compile my own code with Borland C++5.0
on the PC with the library mysqlclient.lib. The 
linker doesn't recognize the library with the message : bad object file,
the libraries have been compiled with VC++. Are DLL files available ? What
can I do ?
