Slave_SQL_Running

Hello.
I'm having some replication troubles.
Sometimes the server stops to replicate.
I executed "show slave status\G", and in the line "Slave_SQL_Running" the
value is "No".
Does this affect the replication in some way? How do I change this value?
Does the change affect the data that is replicated?
