Aha. Debian isn't shipping current MySQL++: http://packages.debian.org/lenny/libmysql++3 NOW() was accidentally quoted in 3.0.0, fixed in 3.0.1. I suggest downloading the MySQL++ source and building the library yourself. It isn't hard.
