Right. I have now compiled 3.0.4:

/usr/lib/libmysqlpp.so.3.0.4
/usr/lib/libmysqlpp.so.2.0.7
/usr/local/lib/libmysqlpp.so
/usr/local/lib/libmysqlpp.so.3
/usr/local/lib/libmysqlpp.so.3.0.4
Is this correct? Since, I still get the error.

I had the idea that I need to "register" the new version in some way..?
