In fact, the response you cite is to my first message which (although
correct) does not identify the bug proper. The first message talks
about inserting nulls into a std::string (programmer's choice), the
second message describes a different issue which is that additional
nulls are inserted for every call (which more of a "bug" than "developer
choice"). Perhaps you consider these the same bug.
I'm not trying to be difficult, just pointing out that there were two
posts discussing (what I think are) different issues.
