cannot initiate connection with password

hi, i have problem when i try to connect with password.
when i connect without password, no problem occur.
but when i try to use password and disable exception, connected() function
always return false.
and from tracing the code, the code that give exception came from mysql
library, not mysqlpp.
can anybody give download url for mysql C api?
