problem with building mysql++

configure give me this:

checking for MySQL library directory... configure: error: Didn't find mysqlclient_r
library in '/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql /usr/local/lib/mysql /opt/mysql/lib/mysql
/usr/lib/mysql /usr/local/mysql/lib /usr/local/lib /opt/mysql/lib /usr/lib'



but there is in /usr/lib/mysql !

why I get this ?
how can I fix it?
also the the normal configuration(not thread-safe) gives
the same

any help??
