Actually, it is simple to override this . In mysq++/lib/Makefile, at line 
139 there is a rule which is targeting "examples" directory:
$(RM) $(EX_BIN_DIR)*$(EXE). Is this correct ?
Comment out this line (put # at begging of this line).
