Hello!
I am trying to install the mysql dbd on a cobalt qube, with minimal luck.
Unfortunatly, the mysql that is on this qube is just binaries, not the
compiled install, so the include and lib files are not on the machine.
I have also tried to compile a fresh copy of mysql with no luck. (basically
it doesn't like the C++ compiler on the qube, which is another story).
I have tried copying over the include and lib files from another machine,
which actually allows me to get the Makefile.PL to run without complaint,
but doing a make, make test, and make install gives problems.
The error I am now getting is
/usr/local/mysql/lib/libmysqlclient.a: could not read symbols: File format
not recognized
make[1]: *** [../blib/arch/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.so] Error 1
I have a feeling this is occurring because the include and lib folders were
from a solaris box and this is a cobalt qube.
