Hi,

to translate Randy's kind hint:

Do the following to get DBD::mysql installed with ActivePerl 5.8:

  1.) If you need a HTTP proxy, set the environment variable
      http_proxy. For example

        set http_proxy=http://myproxy.com:8080/

   2.) On the command line, enter

        ppm install http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/DBD-mysql.ppd
