msql-mysql-modules-2.017 - make test problem

I am trying to install the 2.017 version on RH 4.2 / 2.036

When I get to the make test script, it produces the following error:

t/dbdadmin..........install_driver(mysql) failed: Can't load
'../blib/arch/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.so' for module DBD::mysql: 
File not found at /usr/lib/perl5/5.00502/i586-linux/DynaLoader.pm line 168.

I have all DBD and DBI up to date with cpan
and running perl 5005_02
