I don't know what I have been smoking while replying to this request.
Of course, our MySQL RPMs already includes libmysqlclient.so in /usr/lib,
not /usr/lib/mysql (which should only include the static libs).
I'd rather like to repeat Dmitry's question: why should it be in
/usr/lib/mysql? By doing so, we'd need to add another path to
/etc/ld.so.conf so the dynamic linker actually finds the shared lib.
Having it in /usr/lib is IMHO the Right Way. Or am I missing something?
Alexander, could you please elaborate why you request this change?
