Sadly enough, we can't finally use the acx_pthread code without getting
a copyright assignment form from the author. However, I have another
piece of code that I need to replace as well (JNI detection) ... so I'm
going to leave it for now. But we need to replace it. I'm looking in to
the JNI pthread issue. I'll let you know what I find.
