From: Zach Beane Date: March 25 1999 1:55pm Subject: mysql leaves a single process that hangs connections List-Archive: http://lists.mysql.com/mysql/949 Message-Id: <199903251355.IAA21136@sapphire.mint.net> >Description: We use a Mysql server as a logging system. Since upgrading to 3.22.20a, it will frequently (a few times per day) go into a mode where all threads seem to disappear and a single mysqld process remains. It binds to the port, but connections to it simply hang, and since it's binding to the port a new process can't be automatically started. It must be killed before anything can be done. >How-To-Repeat: Unsure. >Fix: Unsure. >Submitter-Id: >Originator: Zach Beane >Organization: Zachary Beane xach@stripped PGP mail welcome. http://www.xach.com/pgpkey.txt > >MySQL support: licence >Synopsis: mysql crashes partially, leaving a single process that hangs >Severity: serious >Priority: high >Category: mysql >Class: sw-bug >Release: mysql-3.22.20a (Source distribution) >Server: /usr/local/bin/mysqladmin Ver 7.8 Distrib 3.22.20a, for pc-linux-gnulibc1 on i586 TCX Datakonsult AB, by Monty Server version 3.22.20a Protocol version 10 Connection Localhost via UNIX socket UNIX socket /tmp/mysql.sock Uptime: 1 hour 7 min 54 sec Threads: 3 Questions: 23199 Slow queries: 0 Opens: 15 Flush tables: 1 Open tables: 11 >Environment: System: Linux sapphire.mint.net 2.0.36 #4 Fri Jan 29 12:51:10 EST 1999 i586 Architecture: i586 Some paths: /usr/local/bin/perl /usr/bin/make /usr/bin/gmake /usr/bin/gcc /usr/bin/cc GCC: Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-unknown-linux-gnulibc1/2.7.2.3.f.1/specs gcc version 2.7.2.3.f.1 Compilation info: CC='gcc' CFLAGS='' CXX='gcc' CXXFLAGS='' LDFLAGS='' Configure command: ./configure --without-bench --without-debug --localstatedir=/usr/local/mysql_db --with-tcp-port=3333 Perl: This is perl, version 5.003 with EMBED
