Try "Learning Perl, 2e" (the Llama book) and "Programming Perl, 2e" (the
Camel book), both from O'Rielly.
If you are interested in more advanced Perl there is:
"Perl Cookbook" - fills the gaps left by the changes in the Camel book.
"Advanced Perl Programming" - covers appliction use, although some rather
lightly (like DBI/DBD, the database interface modules).
