Subject:Mysql can't connect to local mysql server

My linux is Hed Hat and I have a problem with my
database: when I tried to connect with mysql, this
message appear:

"can't connect to local mysql server through socket
/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock (111). 
 
 Please, someone help me.
