Subject:DBD::mysql broken?
View as plain text
Is version 2.0401 of DBD::mysql broken?

For starters, the build process is a bit messed up. In earlier versions
(2.0209, for example) I had no problems running a test off a remote database.
The test code for 2.0401 does not seem to properly go to the remote database
no matter how I try.

It also appears that that ping() method is completely hosed. In earlier
versions I was able to ping() and be reasonably assured of getting back a true
value. This does not appear to be the case with the latest version. Even
though the connection is perfectly fine, ping() fails.

Here is my setup. Let me know if you need more info:

	Perl: 5.005_03
	DBI: 1.13
	DBD::mysql: 2.0401
	MySQL Client: Ver 9.32 Distrib 3.22.21, for pc-linux-gnu (i686)
	MySQL Server: Ver 3.21.29-gamma for pc-linux-gnu on i686 (connecting via the
network)

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

-Jesse-
