Bruce,

I tried what you suggested and I get the following error message on my
redhat 7 server:

/sbin/chkconfig --list mysql

service mysql does not support chkconfig

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

SW

login as root. Use:

 chkconfig --list mysql

to determin if it on, if it's not on issue:

 chkconfig mysql on.

That will make sure that mysql starts at boot time. To start mysql
manually use:

 service mysql start
