Indeed very nice in the context that the main use of mysql surely is the web-server market where the customer cannot descide upon the providers server version. As there are many new features (comments, table params like bdb support...) I would propose to add a server version autodetection and, for mysqldump a switch like --output-server-version=3.21.33 to make it possible to also produce compatible output. bye, -christian- -- Christian Hammers WESTEND GmbH - Aachen und Dueren Tel 0241/701333-0 ch@stripped Internet & Security for Professionals Fax 0241/911879 WESTEND ist CISCO Systems Partner - Premium Certified
