Indeed very nice in the context that the main use of mysql surely is the
web-server market where the customer cannot descide upon the providers 
server version.

As there are many new features (comments, table params like bdb support...)
I would propose to add a server version autodetection and, for mysqldump a 
switch like --output-server-version=3.21.33 to make it possible to also
produce compatible output.
