On your FreeBSD machine, please run the following
commands and send the results:
uname -v
sysctl -a | grep files
mysqladmin variables
netstat -m
I'm running a very busy MySQL server on FreeBSD
with little problem, but I've made some OS
modifications, so the results of the above should
help in diagnosing the problem.
