I think I have localized the problem to RedHat Linux Enterprise Edition. It has changes some low level disk IO stuff (that's what the docs say anyway). I have used mysqldump to dump the database off of a running system using redhat linux 6.2 (the free one). To test I reimported it on that same system with no problem the query runs fine. I then try to import into a system running the Enterprise Edition and it crashes the server. I then tried another system that I have also running the Enterprise edition of Linux and it crashes MySQL their also. Is their any known issues with this? I have tried the source RPM and the binary RPM to see if it was a compile problem but they both give the same effect.. Does anyone have any ideas? I could build from the tar.gz file but I'm not sure if that would have any change from the source RPM. Any input would be appriciated. Serge.
