ODBC and remote access

Hello,

I've looked over the mysql docs on ODBC and Remote access.  i still
don't understand something
basic.  How do I get the linux mysql server to take client logins
remotely through tcp-ip.  Do I need to recompile with an option, or is
it a matter of the permissions tables or what?

The win95 ODBC drive seems to be missing some basic documentation, like
how to connect it to mysql over tcp.

Can someone point me in the right direction on this.
