Hi Sergej,

I think in the configfile there is a part  server or host  and here you
have to set localhost.

I have made good apearance with the binary-version and with the
rpm-version, last of them delivered on Suse 6.

The mysql.socks will make automaticly when the startupfile in Suse the
rc.config starts the mysqld.
