I'm starting to think that this is a problem inherant in the compiler. I
loaded a Beta version of Slackware 4.0 Friday and I started getting the
internal compiler errors with egcs.
I checked the egcs archives and there are a few reports of the problem.
The solution was to report the problem to egcs-bugs@stripped.
Has anyone managed to get egcs compiled on a *recent* Linux release? Say
Slackware 4.0, Red Hat 6.0 or Suse 6.1?
snorch:~/mysql-3.22.22/sql$ g++ -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-pc-linux-gnulibc1/egcs-2.91.66/specs
gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314 (egcs-1.1.2 release)

What's the point?
An NT server can be run by an idiot, and usually is.
