Subject:Run mysql out of html,htm through a browser on a virtual server
View as plain text
Folks,

Cross mysql - perl - browser questions:

I have this html code,
I understand some of it.
I copied it from MARCS and modified it.
It works as far as display in a browser.

One posssible related question - when is the
new mysql book on win32 mysql coming out?

code follows:

HTML>
<HEAD>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="Microsoft Word 97">
<TITLE>me1</TITLE>

</HTML>

Can anyone someone please explain
the html "DD" code calling mysql and the
bookclosed.gif.  The bookclosed.gif appears
to be a built in browser thing - but how does
the mysql search work?

I thought one had to run perl and cgi to get data out of mysql?

I have a virtual server installed on my local machine and
it seems to work well on html's - htm - etc. It is OmniHTTPD -
any comments?

Will I be able to access mysql tables though a browser using
httpd as a server?

Thanks for any help,
