Can't read dir of '.' (errno: 13)

Dear all,

I am facing the issue mentioned below while issuing show databases command.


root@s7-dt-bse:~# mysql -uroot -p
Enter password:
Welcome to the MySQL monitor.  Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 5
Server version: 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.8 (Ubuntu)

Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the current input 
statement.

mysql> show databases ;
ERROR 1018 (HY000): Can't read dir of '.' (errno: 13)
mysql> show databases;
ERROR 1018 (HY000): Can't read dir of '.' (errno: 13)
mysql>

My Mysql data dir is /hdd2-1/myisam_data/*

Mysql is the owner and group of myisam_data folder.

Can I know why it occurs and how to debug it.
