innodb_autoinc_lock_mode and replication mode

I couldn't find much information on innodb_autoinc_lock_mode and
implications on mixed mode replication. Does the same caution for
innodb_autoinc_lock_mode=2 and statement-based replication apply to
mixed mode replication?
