Hello,

I am getting an error 
#HY000Incorrect string value: '\xE9l\xE9tra...' for column '

Not quite sure why. hex E9 is a lower case e acute found in CP1252 
and googling seems to tell me that the latin1 charset that I have set for the table
should display this OK.
 mysql V 5.0.54a on Redhat 5.2


mysql>  SHOW CHARACTER SET LIKE 'latin%';

Any thoughts?
