What is the common method some of you use to archive old data in a MySQL database and restore for access when requested by a client? The requirements are that key fields of this data still needs to be visible in search lists, and thus, if a client requests, the complete record will be reinstated by the Operator at a later time from tape backup, in batch mode. Is this going to require a complicated set of scripts, or does MySQL have facilities to make such a thing easy? Thanks, Jose
