Your best bet would be to use a UUID:

SELECT UUID();
+--------------------------------------+
| uuid()                               |
+--------------------------------------+
| c712dc72-718d-102b-b3c8-97395a1766b9 |
+--------------------------------------+

There are equivalents in various programming languages, although not in PHP.
