PHP+MySQL: localhost or 127.0.0.1?

Hello all,

Using PHP+MySQL, I've noted that:

If I use 'localhost', I'm using socket to do the connection. If the
socket was wrong, the connections was failed.

If I use '127.0.0.1', I'm not using socket and I'll be connected if I
have permission.

Now the question: Which one have better performance/ speedy?
