Subject:testing MySQL on 3 OS
View as plain text
I installed the latest version of Mysql on my Pentium Pro 180, 128 MByte
Ram. I executed run-all-tests on three OS:
NT 4.0 Workstation
Redhat Linux 5.2 Kernel 2.0.36
Solaris 2.7

Do the results show that Windoze is fastest?

Running tests on: Windows NT Version 4.0
Server version:      MySQL 3.22.28
Operation seconds usr sys cpu tests
TOTALS                  21593 2276.57 1054.73    0.00 1612848 ++++

Running tests on: Linux 2.0.36 i686
Server version:      MySQL 3.22.27
Operation seconds usr sys cpu tests
TOTALS                  26139 1663.38  429.26    0.00 1612358 +++++

Running tests on: SunOS 5.7 i86pc
Server version:      MySQL 3.22.27
Operation seconds usr sys cpu tests
TOTALS                  26913 1641.84  790.22    0.00 1612358 +++++

I used gcc-2.95.1 to build mysql on Linux and Solaris. I used the binary
from MySQL on NT.

Would these be typical differences?
