To permit calling of stored procedures, the CLIENT_MULTI_STATEMENTS flag 
must be set (4th param to mysql_connect() or mysql_pconnect()). Looks 
like the phpMyAdmin working group hasn't implemented that yet. I posted 
a question about this on a phpMyAdmin forum, but didn't get a response.
