Subject:Re: making mysql-client for windows behave

Hi there

Sorry about starting a new thread but I lost the original message....

Anyway Mr. Green suggested to change the settings on the shortcut, or on a
copy of the shortcut, but that is just plain inpossible! I cannot change
target or icon of the shortcut that was created by the MySql installer.

Following the other advice you gave me, I copied the ini file to
[serverdir]\my.ini and I verified with SysInternals utility FileMon, and the
mysql process accesses that ini and reads it completaly but fails to execute
the settings.

To proof that the settings are not to be blamed, when I execute the mysql
binary from the command line, everything works like it should.

mysql being open source software, how about releasing the source for the mysql
icon? so that I can use my own shortcuts.

With kind regards

Andy
