From: "GH" > Does Open Office have a MSPublisher like program? I'm not familiar with Publisher, but I gues that it is supposed to help you make publications in a kind of desktop pulishing way. In the article at http://www.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=04/10/04/150207 the author compares Writer (the wordprocessing part of OpenOffice.org) with Adobe's Framemaker. Maybe that will help you a bit. It's worth mentioning that the current version OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 will soon be replaced by a major upgrade as the 2.0 beta has recently become available. On http://www.openoffice.org you can read all about the new features in this release. I use both OpenOffice.org and MS Office and both have their pros and cons. Regards, Jigal.
