Subject:ft_min_word_len=2... YAY or NAY?
View as plain text
I'm wondering whether or not I should implement fulltext searching for 2 letter words
within a product database (HP, TV, G5, LG, etc)... My searchable text is currently about
600Mb and a 3-letter fulltext index is consuming about 420Mb.

Is the trade-off for user convience vs. performance worth it? In general, how much will
performance decrease? Or should I look for alternatives such as a 2-letter keyword table
that I build on my own? Or do most of you just let 2-letter words slide?

YAY or NAY?
