Or better yet, Perl. Not only is its mysql support very mature 
the entire language is! *AND* you don't have to mess with PHP 
Which, as an administrator of lots of servers over the years, 
is only seconded in horribleness of headaches by Microsoft stuff.

Didn't want to start flames going just wanted to pint out a 
better alternative.
