Subject:Mysql daemon dies on startup
View as plain text
I have installed Redhat 9.0 and upgraded mysql thru RHN to 3.23.58-1.9

I executed the following commands:

[root@localhost linux]# mysql_install_db

then
[root@localhost linux]# /usr/bin/safe_mysqld &
[1] 12018
[root@localhost linux]# Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql
031108 01:30:55 mysqld ended

No host*.err files are created.

Thank you for your help.
