select into outfile

Hi all

I am trying to copy a table to a file, and I was successful, but I cant find
that file afterwards.
I did
select * from table into outfile file1;
and I cant find file1
I also did
select * from table into outfile '/path/file1';
and I cant do it.

Any suggestions ?
