MySQL on the internet - again !!!

Alright, I know that last question did sound stupid, but I've been communicating privately
with a guy on the subject and I forgot to tell the whole story !!!!

I'm programming an applet in Java and have so far used an MSAccess DB locally.
But now I want to put the applet on my homepage, wich made me want to use mySQL instead of
MSAccess.

I've got the mm.mysql.jdbc - driver, which the applet finds alright, but it can't find the
DB !!
So do I need to configure the server or do I just put the DB-files on the net ????
