mysql select into outfile

Hi Here is a question :

I am trying to copy a table from mysql to sybase.
I did
select * from table into outfile '/home/me/file.txt';
and it gave me error-> ERROR 1: Can't create/write to file
'/home/me/file.txt'
I changed permission on that file to 557 and it still does not work, any
suggestions ?
I just was able to put it in a file but I cant find that file now, please
help.
