I did make a brief run through the current manual, but didn't find an
authoritative answer to this...
Is table-locking considered safe these days under Linux? Specifically
Redhat 5.2 and 6.0? I'm running mySQL on several boxes, with different
kernel versions, and want to know where I can stop skipping locking.
BTW, this is my first post, and I want to thank everyone at T.c.X. for an
awesome tool, and thank them and everyone else who has made this list a
very, very helpful resource :-)
