Auto Date Time?

Here is a quick question.  I have an existing database (on the order of 40+
tables w/ code for around 100+ inserts and updates)
(the inserts are all column specific)

I would like to add a lastupdated datetime column to each table - is there
anyway to have this column automatically get updated each update/insert
which out having to recode the updates/inserts to deal with changing the
date?

Also - is there a search for this list like there is for the PHP3 list?
