this version, like 4.0.12 cannot be started via the supplied
mysql.server script on a host with no local user 'mysql':
"
030521 10:11:45  mysqld started
Fatal error: Can't change to run as user 'mysql' ;  Please check that
the user exists!
030521 10:11:45  Aborting
"

On the same host MySQL version 3.23.56 doesn't complain and starts right
away!

Do we really need to create a local user 'mysql'?
