mysqlbug

After i install the Redhat 7.3 and mysql
i cannot  connect to  the mysql server , it shutdown automatically


[root@localhost root]/usr/bin/safe_install &

  [root@localhost root}# mysql -u root mysql
  ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
