Blame it on Netscape. No, go ahead and blame it on Microsoft. You
put out software that's alpha quality and call it "release", then you
put out a patch (i.e., version 1.01, then version 1.02 a few days
later). Then you call a version "gold". MySQL's alpha versions are
regularly of higher quality than those other companies "gold" versions.
So people's perceptsions get a little bit whacked.
