Subject:INDEXing on MERGED TABLES
View as plain text
Howdy group!

Having now merged some rather large tables and having read the documentation
http://www.mysql.com/doc/M/E/MERGE.html "It doesn't need to maintain an
index of its one. This makes MERGE table collections VERY fast to make or
remap. Note that you must specify the key definitions when you create a
MERGE table!. "

It is saying that it "doesn't need" to maintain an index. Does indexing
effect MERGEd tables?

Thanks!

Jay
